The window channel is the 'track' that the roll up window rides in along the sides as well as at the top of the window, the material is rubber with a flocking (felt like) material on the inside where the widow rides in. On many GM cars from the 1970's to the 1990's this material can be removed from the window frame and replaced with new window channel material. By replacing the window channel material you will notice the windows will not rattle or move around as much and it will reduce the wind noise inside the car, remember it is the small things that make the biggest difference!
